SHOCKT

Since discovering its early pioneers, Devon’s Spencer Brinton has been immersed in electronic music.

As an audio engineer by day and a regular on the floors of London’s most discerning techno clubs by night, his first release as Shockt was 2004’s “Slo Mo” on homegrown Yeah Recordings. The combination of strings, moog bassline, sporadic vocals and sparse beats saw the track find it’s way onto the world’s deeper dancefloors via plays from the likes of Swayzak, Luciano and Roger 23.

Whilst techno remains its backbone, the Shockt sound continues to develop due to Spencer’s desire to experiment and collaborate. There’s no fixed agenda, just a desire to create the perfect mix of groove, depth and atmosphere.

His first release of 2009 is Coding Parts. Unfolding over six minutes, it encapsulates what Spencer believes is the sound of Shockt. More new material will follow…..
